I joined the professional, international team of Travel Counsellors in February 2008. Although I am based in Gordon's Bay in the Western Cape, thanks to our latest technology, I am able to deal with clients worldwide.

I have been in the travel industry for 26 years, 12 of which I was managing Corporate accounts such as
SACOB, Concorde Holdings, Beyerskloof Wine Estate, Jordan Winery, Simonsig Wine Estate, NGK Ceramics, Riso Africa, to name but a few.

Knowing that service is paramount to my clients I try to go more than the extra mile, so much so, that when a client arrived in Johannesburg (having flown in from Cape Town to connect with an international flight) to discover that he had left his passport at home, I flew one of my consultants to Johannesburg to deliver his passport to him.

Being a home-based agent, I now have the facility of providing a 24/7 service. Recently, one of my top corporate clients was due to fly to Namibia, only to be advised at 21h00 the previous evening, that the meeting had to be cancelled. I immediately cancelled his flights as to avoid a no-show as well as his accommodation, saving him a no-show fee at the hotel. This type of service back up is the norm, as I am not bound by set office hours.

Having spent most of my travel career managing a corporate office, I found that I was spending most of my working day managing staff and not spending enough quality time with my clients. That is why I joined Travel Counsellors.
